Drug Withdrawals for Skin Allergy Testing

Important: To properly perform skin testing it is important for your client to withhold certain medications from their pet before their appointment.

Drug	Withdrawl Time Prior to Testing
Injectable steroids	8 weeks
Steroids (oral)	4-6 weeks
Antihistamines	2 weeks
Essential fatty acids/fish oil supplements	2 weeks
Topical steroid containing products	2 weeks
Pramoxine containing conditioners	2 weeks
Cyclosporine & antibiotics	Can be used right up to the day of skin testing
